Alaska Boat Prices & Rental Periods
Our standard daily rental period begins at 6:00PM - 8:00PM in the evening and ends at 5 PM on the date of return. We do this to provide you with the earliest possible start and to allow people the chance of fishing most of the day. We do our best to get your boat earlier on the day of your rental but we have to handle this on a case-by-case basis depending upon boat availability.
The mandatory safety briefing and contract work take about 45 minutes to complete. Please call at least a day in advance to arrange an appointment if we haven't already called by then!

Towing and Launching
Our trailers require a 2” ball. We have adapters to fit either 1 ¼” or 2” receivers. Our wiring plug is the 4 pin flat type. We can adapt to 6 round or 7 blade style connectors. Most of the RV rental companies have hitch receivers on their rigs. Just ask for it when making a reservation.
As a recommendation for a car rental company that allows towing, check with Midnight Sun Car Rental in Anchorage (907) 243-8806. They are an independent company that has SUVs and trucks with hitches. Just make sure that you request a vehicle with a hitch when making a reservation.
There are plenty of places to launch a boat here on the Kenai peninsula depending on where you want to go. Most places charge to both launch and retrieve a boat, and can vary from $9 to $75, please plan accordingly! For more information on Kenai area, launch facilities see the Alaska Outdoors Supersite.

possess a valid Driver's License, and have a credit card that will accept payment of rental fees and the security deposit.
Persons renting and anyone operating the boat must sign an affidavit which attests to their having suitable prior experience operating a motorized vessel, and/or having completed a NASBLA boater education course. We strongly recommend the online Alaska Boaters Education course at www.boat-ed.com/alaska This course is current and covers a lot of relevant information. You can complete it in a few hours.
We reserve the right to refuse rental to anyone who in our judgment appears to be incompetent or incapable of safe operation of our equipment.
The renter is required to sign a Rental Agreement and the renter, as well as all passengers, are required to sign a Waiver of Liability before they will be allowed to use the boat. The Renter will be financially responsible for any loss or damage to rental equipment, fuel, or cleaning charges.
A $500.00 pre-authorization for a security deposit is required.
All boats are sent out with full fuel tanks. Fuel is not included in the rental cost, the Renter is responsible for returning the boat with all fuel tanks full. Renters who return with partially filled tanks will be charged the actual price of the gas plus a $20 fueling fee.
Boats must be returned clean and free of trash. We recommend taking the boat to a local carwash to clear the boat of any noticeable dirt or fish remains. If a boat requires washing by us, a $20 cleaning fee will be charged against the deposit.
Safety is a priority to us at Alaska Boat Rentals. All operators will be given a complete safety briefing when initiating the rental. US Coast Guard regulations require that approved life jackets (PFDs) must be readily accessible. State law requires that life jackets be worn at all times by children under the age of 13. Alaska Boat Rentals requires that PFDs be worn at all times for all passengers and operators. For more information, visit our Safety page.
Area of operation:
Boats are restricted as to their area of operation. Renter must operate the boat only within the area defined by their specific rental agreement, and may be subject to confiscation if an agreement is deliberately disobeyed. In general, our 17ft drift boats may operate on all portions of the Kenai River, Kasilof River, Kenai Lake or Skilak Lake. Our 18ft boats may operate on the middle and lower Kenai River, Kenai Lake or Skilak Lake.
Our 20ft boats may be used in these areas plus the Cook Inlet, Whittier Sound, Kachemak Bay (Homer) and certain coastal waters with distance limitations and additional restrictions. Operating on these waters will require additional equipment.
Renters must comply with all laws relating to anchoring or beaching boats. Boats may not be left unattended while anchored or beached.
